Located a short drive from Taupo township, Okuta Bay Retreat is a private sanctuary nestled in native bush on the lakefront of Okuta Bay (Mine Bay), Lake Taupō. As part of an exclusive private estate, Okuta Bay Retreat sits within 58 acres of exotic and native gardens, alive with birdsong. Just a stone’s throw from the lake edge you can swim in the crystal-clear waters of New Zealand’s largest freshwater lake, view the magnificent Ngātoroirangi Māori Carvings, discover a web of walking trails, play tennis or simply relax on your private balcony while the sun sets over the Western Bays. For those wanting to explore more extensively your hosts will happily share their personal recommendations to ensure you make the most of your time in this beautiful region.
Okuta Bay Retreat is a non-smoking property. Due to the high risk of fire, smoking is also prohibited within the gardens and surrounding gated community areas. Due to the nature of the complex and its proximity to water, guests under the age of 14 years are not permitted. As there is a small fox terrier dog on the property, we kindly request you do not bring your pets with you.
